Founder, Tony Hancock
Tony Hancock founded COPS driving school to use his expertise and knowledge to help young drivers learn skills that will prevent collisions and keep them safe. Tony, a retired South Carolina Highway Patrol Captain, has over 33 years of experience in highway safety. He served for 5 years as safety liaison for the South Carolina Department of Education, conducting safety classes and training for school bus drivers and students. Now he transfers this knowledge and experience from his career to the classroom.

At C.O.P.S Driving Academy, safety is a top priority in everything from the instruction we provide to the vehicle we use for that instruction. We chose a driver education vehicle with the best safety features available.
We've chosen the Mini Cooper as our driver education vehicle because it offers some of the best safety features available, including:
- Six airbags
- Anti-lock brakes
- Four-wheel disc brakes
- Stability control
- Shortest stopping distance
The base model Mini Cooper (not the high-performance version) has a four-star safety rating. This practical, economical vehicle is easy to operate and ideal for parallel parking. All vehicles are also equipped with dual brake controls for maximum driver and instructor safety.

Teen Driver Training Package
This package offers the 8-hour classroom and 3 Behind The Wheel lessons for $370.00.
Driver Training Plus 3rd Party Test
This package offers an 8-hour classroom, 3 behind-the-wheel lessons, and the third-party Driver's Test for $420.00.
Adult Driver Training
We offer adult driver training at $65.00 per hour with a minimum of two hours.
Adult 3rd Party Test
We offer the adult third-party test for $100.00.

Scheduling Policy:
To ensure your student completes the program on time, we strongly encourage families to schedule driving lessons and road tests well in advance. Appointment availability is limited and fills quickly, especially during evenings, weekends, holidays, and school breaks.
It is the parent's and student's responsibility to schedule all required driving sessions and road tests with sufficient notice. Requests made at the last minute may not be accommodated due to instructor availability and existing appointments. We cannot guarantee lesson or testing dates needed to meet permit expiration dates, school deadlines, birthdays, or other personal timelines if scheduling is delayed.
We appreciate your understanding and encourage early scheduling to provide the best possible experience for every student.
